Ursula Ruedenberg returned my call today. She provided us with some advice as to what preliminary steps need to be taken in order to proceed towards completing the application process. The first step is to acquire a frequency map showing any local bandwidths that are available which we would be able to tap into. The following e-mail is a petition for that map which, according to Ursela, we should receive in a couple days, tops. Once we receive that map, and providing there are bandwidths available that suit our interests, the next steps are to IMMEDIATELY contact consulting radio engineers and FCC lawyers to conduct a frequency report and complete the formal application, respectively. Ursela urges us to do this ASAP, as there is a "bottleneck" with respect to these services due to the vast amount of applicants and the limitations of the bureaucracy coupled with the time restrictions that we are facing. The engineer's report and the formal application are two essential, preliminary components in the application process.

People that there may be a full power FM frequency available in the
upcoming FCC window in the Central Coast, more specifically the Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz area. Our non-profit organization,
Migrawatch Network is very interested in pursuing an NCE radio application in this
area.
Ursula Ruedenberg told us that Public Radio Capital is helping to support
developing community radio and may be able to help us to quickly acquire a
frequency study for the Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz area. We are eager to
begin the process and look forward to hearing from you as soon as
possible.
